Stoneware Bird Jug with stopper

This is a generous jug, with a bulbous body and narrow neck. Ideal for water, wine or a summery cordial. It has a fun stopper, hollow at the top to ensure it's not too heavy. The body is decorated with blue birds, sporting showy tails into which patterns have been carved. Green swirls and blue dots finish the decoration. It is glazed inside and out in an iron rich tin glaze, which is food safe. The glaze breaks into pleasing rust tones on around the rim and neck. It measures 19cm tall and holds just over 1L .
